Communication is the most important part of any relationship. I know I know... so you have heard this before, right? This article will just reiterate all of the things that I have said in the past about communication in relationships but now I am in another angle. You see, there are reasons why communication is the most important part of a relationship. Let's go over the reasons.

Rumors: I mean sometimes I feel as though I am in highschool. I get so sick of adults and their "he said - she said" crap. This is what happens though. When we don't talk and hear it from the source that it 'should' come from, then it can cause us to believe anything that we hear (or assume) for that matter. Sometimes it isn't even anybody's business but for some reason people just like drama.

This is why I never belonged to any cliques because I don't like gossip. I am not one to gossip. If I have something to say to you, I will say it to you and leave it there. It is no one elses job to relay messages from one person to another, especially if they have any kind of relationship other then mere aquaintances. Make sense? This is really elementary and adults should know better. So avoid rumors and assumptions by talking. Simple eh? Good!

Misunderstandings: This is something that really gets to me. If there is not proper communication, you will misunderstand someone. Instead of just taking what they say on the surface and assuming that you understand what they mean, try making sure that what they say is what you are assuming. This will keep a lot of the confusion and fights to a minimum later on down the road. So set it straight from the get-go with no assumptions. This keeps the peace as well.

Once you and your partner have an understanding at the beginning, you won't have to fight about the same thing later on. There will be no room for assumptions and misunderstandings on the same subject, either.

Stress Relief/ Emotion: Do you realize how frustrating it is to not be able to express your feelings to the one that you love? If this person ignores you all the time, it is very difficult. I was in a marriage like that and was forbidden to talk to anyone so I was left there to say nothing and bottle things up inside. This was hurtful because I feel that expression is important. Expression to the one that you love, who will listen to you as well as talk to you.

When we love someone we need to remember that they are the ones that deserve the love that we have to give. This also includes our heart and deepest feelings. My own experience is that I didn't have that so I was left to harbor this, when I wanted to express it.

What happens is eventually it will have to be expressed to someone. People need to be able to open up and share their feelings with someone.

Ladies and gents, if you do not talk to your partner, don't expect them to stay quiet forever. They will find someone to talk to eventually. Communication is important!
