Homeopathy is a safe and inexpensive way to promote a child's natural ability to heal.  Homeopathy is a 200 year old medical modality which is widely used in India and Europe.  The homeopathic healing system is based on serially diluted substances using the "like cures like" principle.

Each homeopathic remedy has specific documented effects upon a child's mind and body. The homeopathic medicines listed below are indicated for relief of involuntary urination during sleep (bed wetting) and childhood incontinence.

People who have little background in homeopathy often prefer to use pre-formulated combination homeopathic medicines containing preselected homeopathic remedies at correct potencies for a particular ailment. These combination homeopathic medicines can be found online and in most health food stores.

The remedies are listed by their latin name followed by their common name and the author of the official materia medica from which the information on their indicated uses was derived.

Belladonna: (Boericke's) (Nightlyshade) Great action on every part of the nervous system. Great children's remedy. For relief of continuous dripping of urine. Relieves incontinence. For relief of acute urinary infections.

Bellis Perennis: (Boericke's) (Daisy) For relief of sore, bruised feeling in the pelvic region. For waking early in morning and cannot get to sleep again.

Benzoicum Acidum: (Boericke's) (Benzoic Acid) Acts particularly on odor and color of the urine. Relieves dribble of urine. Relieves excessive uric acid in urine.

Causticum: (Boericke's) (Causticum for burnt lime) Child does not want to go to bed alone, least thing makes it cry. For relief of involuntary urinating during first sleep at night. For loss of sensibility on passing urine.

Equisetum Hyemale: (Boericke's) (Scouring-Rush) A remedy for involuntary and painful urination. For relief of severe, dull pain and feeling of fullness in bladder not relieved by urinating. For frequent urging with severe pain at the close of urination. Urine flows only drop by drop. For sharp, burning, cutting pain in urethra while urinating. For incontinence in children with dreams or nightmares when passing urine. For relief of much mucus in urine.

Lycopodium Clavatum: (Boericke's) (Club Moss) Specifically for urinary disturbances. Great for melancholy, afraid to be alone, little things annoy, extremely sensitive, constant fear, confused thoughts and sadness in morning on awakening. For relief of pain in back before urinating. Urine is slow in coming, must strain. Child cries before urinating. For passage of large volume of urine in a given period.

Phosphorus: (Boericke's) (Phosphorus) For relief of turbid, brown with red sediment. For relief of great lowness of spirits, fearfulness, restlessness and fidgety.

Plantago Major: (Boericke's) (Plantain) A specific remedy for relief of bed wetting, especially at night.

Rhus Aromatica: (Boericke's) (Fragrant Sumach) For relief of urinary affections, especially incontinence at night. For relief of severe pain at beginning or before urination, causing great agony in children. For relief of constant dribbling.

Sepia: (Boericke's) (Inky Juice of Cuttlefish) For relief of red sand in urine. For ibed wetting during first sleep. For relief of bearing-down sensation above pubis.
