Homeopathy is a safe and inexpensive way to promote the body's natural ability to heal. Each homeopathic remedy has specific documented effects upon the mind and body. The homeopathic medicines listed below are indicated for claustrophobia, panic, nervous tension.

The remedies are listed by their latin name followed by their common name and the author of the official materia medica from which the information on their indicated uses was derived.

Aconitum Napellus: (Boericke) (Monkshood) Relieves a state of fear, anxiety, worry, anguish of mind, and mental restlessness. Does not want to be touched. Delirium characterized by unhappiness, worry, fear, raving. Fears death. Fears the future, a crowd, crossing the street. Pains intolerable; drive person crazy. Music unbearable; makes person sad.

Argentum Nitricum: (Boericke) (Nitrate of Silver) Thinks his understanding will and must fail. Fearful and nervous; impulse to jump out of window. Faintish and tremulous. Melancholic; apprehensive of serious disease. Time passes slowly. Impulsive; wants to do things in a hurry. Fears and anxieties and hidden irrational motives for actions.

Cimicifuga Racemosa: (Boericke) (Black snake-root) Great depression, with dream of impending evil. Fears riding in closed areas, of being obliged to jump out. Incessant talking delirium tremens; tries to injure himself. Mania following disappearance of neuralgia.

Nitricum Acidum: (Boericke) (Nitric Acid) Irritable, hateful, vindictive, headstrong. Hopeless despair. Sensitive to noise, pain, touch. Fear of death.

Pulsatilla: (Boericke) (Wind flower) Fears in evening to be alone. Fears dark, ghosts. Easily discouraged. Morbid dread of the opposite sex. Given to extremes of pleasure and pain. Highly emotional. Sad, crying readily; weeps with talking.

Cistus Canadensis: (Boericke's) (Rock Rose, English) - Effective for sleeplessness and itching. Extremely sensitive to cold and sensation of coldness in various parts. For spongy feeling in throat, hawking of mucous, heat and itching in throat.

Clematis Vitalba, Flos: (Boericke's) (Virgin's Bower, English) - A remedy of much importance in disturbances of sleep and neuralgic pains in various parts. Relieves boring pain in temples. For relief of confused feeling which is better in open air. For heat in eyes and sensitivity to air. Effective for white blisters on face and nose. For teeth that ache and feel too long. Weakness after eating. For swelling of scrotum in males. Frequent, scanty urination. Great for red, burning, scaly, scabby skin.

Ornithogalum Umbellatum: (Boericke's) (Star of Bethlehem, English) - Useful for depression of spirits and complete prostration. Feeling of sickness keeps awake at night. Tongue coated. Agonizing feeling in chest and stomach, loss of appetite and loss of flesh.
