Homeopathy is a safe and inexpensive way to promote the body's natural ability to heal. Each homeopathic remedy has specific documented effects upon the mind and body. The homeopathic medicines listed below are indicated for relief of heartburn, dyspepsia (upset stomach), acid reflux, nausea and indigestion.

People who have little background in homeopathy often prefer to use pre-formulated combination homeopathic medicines containing preselected homeopathic remedies at correct potencies for a particular ailment. These

combination homeopathic medicines can be found online and in most health food stores.

The remedies are listed by their latin name followed by their common name and the author of the official materia medica from which the information on their indicated uses was derived.

Abies Nigra: (Boericke's) (Black Spruce) A long-acting remedy for gastric disturbances. Pain in stomach always comes on after eating. For relief of distressing constriction just above the pit of the stomach as if everything were knotted up. Works well for the elderly with dyspeptic troubles. Relieves belching. For relief of constipation. Useful remedy for wakeful, restlessness at night with hunger. Useful for offensive breath.

Arsenicum Album: (Boericke's) (Arsenious Acid) Provides relief of heartburn and acid reflux. Provides relief from gnawing, burning pains like coals of fire in abdomen. For relief of abdominal swelling and pain. Great for nausea, retching or vomiting after eating or drinking. For relief of long-lasting eructations. Stomach is extremely irritable, seems raw as if torn. Belching from slightest food or drink. Relieves metallic taste. Craves acids and coffee. Cannot bear the sight or smell of food. Swollen abdomen.

Condurango: (Boericke's) (Condor Plant) Stimulates the digestive functions and thus improves the general health. Modifies secretions of digestive glands. For relief of painful affections of the stomach. Relieves strictures of esophagus with burning pains behind sternum where food seems to stick. For relief of constant burning pain in stomach.

Conium Maculatum: (Boericke's) (Poison Hemlock) A powerful remedy for terrible nausea, acrid heartburn and acid reflux. For relief of painful spasms of the stomach. For painful spot at the level of the sternum.

Iris Versicolor: (Boericke's) (Blue Flag): Action is on intestinal glands and gastro-intestinal mucous membrane. For relief of burning of whole alimentary canal. Increases the flow of bile. Nausea. Profuse flow of saliva. Heat and smarting in throat. Mouth and tongue feel scalded. Works great for relief of constipation.

Magnesia Carbonica: (Boericke's) (Carbonate of Magnesia) Especially for marked acidity and gastro-intestinal mucous. For relief of sticking pain in throat and sour taste. For relief of belching sour water. Relieves abdominal rumbling and gurgling.

Robinia Pseudoacacia: (Boericke's) (Yellow Locust) Gastric symptoms with pronounced acidity, frontal headache, colic, flatulence, nightly burning pains in stomach, constipation with urgent desire. For relief of intensely acrid belching. For relief of incarcerated flatus. Relieves gastric headache with acid vomiting. For relief of distention of stomach and bowels. Relieves slow digestion. Digestion of starch is abnormal.

Sulphuricum Acidum: (Boericke's) (Sulphuric Acid) Provides a powerful influence on the weaknesses common to acid especially in the digestive tract. Especially for the relief of heartburn and sour belching. Relieves weak feeling in abdomen with dragging into hips and small of back. Relieves acute abdominal pain. Relieves cravings for stimulants.
