I have chosen to write my aritcle on John 19:15-22. These eight verses tell us about the events that lead up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The Jewish religious leaders had determined that Jesus must be executed in order for them to keep their place in their Roman-dominated land. (John 11:49-52) Although they were ignorant of the fact, they were simply tools in God's hands to put forth His mighty and holy plan, but the facts remain that they were guilty of killing the Son of God. They were very well aware of the prophesies set out in the Old Testament Scriptures, but they chose to ignore what they knew for the sake of convenience.
This selctive ignorance does not seem to be the case with several other groups who were to come in contact with the Christ. They were impressed with both the contents of His speeches as well as with the many miracles He performed during His time on eath. It is true that due to their pwn personal failings, they did not openly admit that they were supportive of Him,neither did they attempt to save Jesus' life, but for a time they were extremely open to His Godly messages of a need for change and repentance in their lives (Matthew 4:17, and they were also aware of His character and spotless life.Consequently, they were held less responsible for the death of Chist than were the Pharisees, Saducees. scribes and temple priests, etc.

Pilate was a Roman, the Romans were very suspicious and in all of tis, Pilate was certainly no exception. One of the gospels states tha then Jesus told Pilate His servants were not of this world, but of another, Pilate was very afraid. On another occasion, Pilate asked Jesus "Whence art thou"?, or "Where do you come"?
from"? Pilate knew in his heart, that he should release Jesus, but because of his present political situation, he feared the wrath of Caesar more than he feared the wrath of the Almighty God. The governor knew that Jesus was innocent of all the charges leveled against Him, but because of the lack of personal fortitude, he failed to do an ything to save Himm.
Pilate's own spouse warned him that he should "have nothing to do wth this just man, for I have suffered many things this nday in a dream about Him". (Matthew 27:19) While it is possible that Pilate culd not totally
