For God's Sake
In this essay I will attempt to explore the dynamics of the horrific existential dilemma by which humanity is plagued, in particular through the countless acts of murder that are perpetrated in the name of God. Without any obvious need for explanation, or exploration, this is evil at best. However, the purpose of this endeavor is to uncover the root cause (s) that is responsible for inciting an individual or group toward the belief that killing in God's name is a divinely sanctioned act. I firmly believe that the initial seed of all the ailments and travails of the human condition is fear. For example, before the universe came into being, something to consider is that the masculine force was afraid of the possibility of greatness. Not until the feminine force of non-being encouraged the masculine force to dare to fulfill its empty potentiality did it do so in the form of becoming existence. I would further posit that the masculine force feared the feminine force's inherent courage, bravery, glory, power, and radiant greatness. Perhaps the result of this initial encounter is why the actual world became a male-dominated domain, a place where men rule through subjugation - brute over brain. Evidently, the male species is afraid of the female species, hence the need to rule over her, even if, by force. Also, the female force was the primordial "other", therefore, unquestionably suspect. In any event, I will reserve a more in-depth exploration of these metaphysical themes in a separate work. Nonetheless, they were important to gloss over if only for the sake of establishing an analogy on the existential origins of fear.
I would now like to probe into the idea of fear of the "other", and how this idea is in fact directly responsible for the notion of killing in the name of God. Killing in the name of God is common practice amongst religious fanatics, or extremists. In fact, one might argue it is a requisite for such people. However, killing in the name of God extends itself onto the political platform as well, for religion and politics invariably become inextricably bound. How can this be if religion is supposed to be redemptive, and the cure-all for society, and more importantly, the individual people which constitute it? Religion focuses on the indoctrination of the mind in an effort to manipulate affectation of belief systems. As we all know, beliefs are powerful for they shape the world. Where I maintain a view that holds religion - as derived or
