Poetry: Roses

The Parody of the Rose

A single rose stands in a crystalline vase,

To the eyes, a marvel of complexity and beauty,

To the touch, fragile and ever so delicate,

To the senses, soft and sensuously fragrant,

But alas there is a parody to the rose; it is like giving
someone your heart,

For a rose, in all its splendor and delight, is equally
as capable of causing pain and drawing blood,

For no rose is without its thorn!
