Trusting in God
Where is God when we need Him? Just last summer my youngest sister was diagnosed with a brain tumor. When her primary doctor did a MRI to see why she was having headaches. The test came back showing that she had a tumor a size of a grapefruit in the frontal left side of her brain. The test was not conclusive as to if it was cancer or a benign tumor. The first thought our family had after hearing the news that the tumor probably was cancer was. What was going to happen with Cathy? Was Cathy going to die from a tumor that size if it was cancer? Usually a tumor a size of a grapefruit is deadly and has gone or come from else where in the body. It would be a matter of months if not weeks before her life will have ended.
When Cathy first told me I was in shock as to how could this happen to my sister? How were we going to deal with something this horrific in our family? It meant the family as a whole was going to be stressed out. Being in shock and afraid I went off to myself into another room and prayed before braking the news to the rest of my family. While praying to the Lord while pleading with God, a peace beyond understanding came over me. It was as if the Lord was telling me that Cathy was going to be fine, just leave the worrying up to Him. I needed to let go of Cathy and put her into God's hands, and put my trust and hope in Him trusting that He can change things for the better. As I got up off my knees after praying, I really didn't think her tumor was cancerous. I was no longer worried.
As I told my family about my sister, we were getting a severe thunderstorm. A peace came over me where God was letting me know again that He is in control that He can change Cathy's diagnoses. Right after the storm, my daughter went out side to call friends to pray for my sister. While she was calling her friends to pray, she spotted a rainbow that was out of the ordinary that caught her attention. When she called me out to look, I noticed that it had a very bright spot in the middle of the bow. It was something about that rainbow that we took pictures of it. The next morning I looked at the pictures on the computer after they had been down loaded I saw two fingers in the middle where the bright spot was in the rainbow. It was as if Christ was reassuring me that He had heard my prayers.
Two weeks later Cathy underwent surgery to remove the tumor. The neurosurgeon was worried that he would not be able to get no where near all the tumor, he figured by studying
