Possible signs of a miscarriage

by Murina

Miscarriages are a very emotional time in someone's life, not only for the woman experiencing it but for her partner and her entire family too.

I am 30 years old and have gone through 8. My Dr. diagnosed me as having a Bicournate Uterus so we know what the problem is and are taking steps to help me out with it. Every miscarriage can be different depending on the woman and how far along she is. I have found that with my pregnancies the further along I got the more painful and scary the miscarriages were. I am by no means an expert on this subject but I do know what the key indicators were for me and I hope that they will help you or someone you know who suspects they may be going through this.

One key warning sign is cramping. This was what I experienced first. It may start out as being similar to your period but very quickly gets worse. Some cramping is to be expected as your uterus and such are changing to accommodate for the baby. Any cramping that causes you to double over in pain or is worse than your normal period cramping should be checked out. You know what is normal for you and if you experience anything other than your norm go get checked out. It's better to be safe. Cramping in my case started in my stomach and then in my back, it felt like someone was stabbing me over and over again. There was no over the counter medicine I could take that would help in any way.

Another sign of a miscarriage is bleeding. I've heard on more than one occasion that most women bleed and may even continue to have their period during pregnancy. In my case though, any bleeding is bad and I had it checked out immediately. The bleeding may start out light but as the miscarriage continues it will get much worse. My Dr told me that if you have to change your sanitary napkin more than once an hour you need to get help immediately. If you are expericing bleeding but no cramping try laying down and put your feet up making sure they are above your heart. Try this for a while and if the bleeding stops and you have no other signs go ahead and call your Dr to see if they recommend coming in or not.

Another sign of a miscarriage is loss of sensitivity or soreness in the breast. This was something I noticed very early on and it clued me in on the need to go see my Dr.

Miscarriages' are really tough to go through both physically and emotionally. If you suspect that you are experiencing one please seek medical assistance as soon as you can. Don't blame yourself; most women go through this at least once in their life. Give yourself time to heal, don't rush back into trying to get pregnant again. Give your body and mind time to heal.
