Whack!
The crack of the ball hitting the wood
shatters the tense, waiting quiet
Rising so gracefully
Glistening white in the morning sun
It suddenly seems to stop
then plummets down to the action
As the glove stretches upward
And the ball smacks the mitt
With a jolt that signifies victory!
