I'll tell you what I know.
I know I'm solitarily climbing a hill
over boulders and steep slopes
Sometimes it seems almost flat
I forget that I'm going up
sometimes I feel like,
the contrast in gradient is sending me downhill.
I guess sometimes I'd quite like to turn,
back downhill and walk up those bits I enjoyed
take in the scenery again
breath in that air
Making your lungs feel like they could keep going interminably,
albeit with every breath you feel overtaken.
I know the hill has a peak,
and its straight up all the way.
I also know that once I reach this peak,
I'll lay my blanket and begin to build.
I'll live here till I die,
contingently.

A shopping spree
A day in church
A book to read

Embracing Life
Interrupted, here I am -
Little hands demanding me.
I turn to him, offer a smile -
And reach out so graciously.
