Sleepy Creek Lake
There is a lake upon a mountain
Not so very far from here
Thirty miles from the smog
The air is cold and clear
No lights drown out the constellations
From the shore they're shining bright
As I breathe deeply from the night air
This crazy world just feels so right
There's no bad news up on this mountain
Just a signal on the radio
Banjo pickers break the silence
From some station far below
With "Foggy River Breakdown" playing
I enjoy another breath of air
Minus fumes and many toxins
The folks down in the valley bear
So when my world does overtake me
And my endless woes I must forsake
A mountain lies on the horizon
And the starlight shimmers on the lake
