Voluntary Charity

United States citizens are charity oriented. A drive through the drive up window shows change in the collection box for the Ronald McDonald House, Mother's March activities find whole neighborhoods contributing or collection cans at shops for a single uninsured individual. Many people donate to these funds without any means to record for tax purposes.

Government and Charity

Many people could not donate enough to qualify for a tax advantage, but they still want to help. Second Harvest in the Tri-Cities WA has many food drives that people drop food in or purchase the donation bags without a tax receipt. Goodwill Industries operate as a second hand store with donated materials with few receipts requested. Americans do not need compulsary rules which might hamper giving by requiring too much documentation. With the required documentation need, planning may decrease impulse donations.

After 911, the nation needed and wanted to help. The president suggests the nation just shop. Just shop appear obscured to most since the fight against Islamic terrorist appeared extreme. When Pakistan had an earthquake paramedics from New York headed to Pakistan to offer emergency medical care. They were warriors in the fight by winning the hearts of desperate people.

Another incident after 911 was the project of Tri-Cities Washington. After 911, the community wanted to duplicate a gift of World War II. A bomber flew with the name Days Pay because the employees of the Richland branch of the Manhattan Project donated a days pay to build a bomber. They did so and raised enough other money to build a bomber. The Richland High School mascot is the bombers out of memory of this bomber. The community wanted to replace one of the fire truck lost in bombing of the trade center. They raised a fair share but not enough because government did not see Americans as part of the answer.

Government does not fairly consider the donation given by volunteer soldiers such as reservists or National Guard. Doctors, attorney and businessperson s serve when called up and lose income. Will the Attorney General of the State of Delaware receive a military salary to replace his salary during his deployment to Iraq? Some National Guard members rotate too often on deployment to get their civilian careers off the ground.

Who handled Katrina best the government or caring citizens?

Open Heart of America When Katrina hit many wanted to help. I know very few who did not hesitate to donate funds. A Kennewick church has sent a mission team again this fall. Many needed to examine charities for reliability to offer service without advantage to the creators since many created new charities. Did government handle this task well? Many are still leaving in temporary housing and the government gave the house wares bought for them away.
How can you register the meal taken in to someone who experienced an injury or illness or food given to a grieving family? The charities to help ill children such as the Ronald McDonald houses. Imagine a simple task of pulling the pull-tab off a soda can to bring extras to family staying in Ronald McDonald houses.

Mandatory or compelled supervision by an entity who failed to accomplish their share of projects with tax funds or inspiration appears obscured.
