Poetry: The mountains

The Significance of the Mountain.

The mountains which surround my life,
White capped in snow's own veil,
Have seen environmental strife,
Survived the strongest gale.

Their heads held proud against a sky,
That seems so deep a blue,
And valleys down below do try,
To shake the morning hue.

That cradles vales in cloaks of mist,
Which rises through the day,
Like earth below it has been kissed,
And swept the bad away.

Reminding our perspective that,
The world is ever vast,
Whoever thought the world was flat,
The doubts have all been cast.

As the evening sun descend behind,
As mountains fade and darken,
And in the skies, sweet stars we find,
And the night owls here just harken.

Feel close to all and know you're small,
Wrapped up in nature's story,
And God will grasp you when you fall,
And lead you to his glory.

Awakening to mountain views,
You know you're not bereft,
That God is here, it isn't news,
He never really left.

And somehow in the heart of man,
A message from afar,
Says we are loved since we began,
However small we are.
