Homemade Christmas gifts hold an old fashioned charm within them that is just not available in your standard store purchased gifts. Generally created with love, these handcrafted items are often personalized to the specific tastes of the person who will receive them, and usually are one of a kind items.

Reminiscent of a simpler way of life, handmade wooden furniture, wooden jewelry boxes, and handcrafted wood toys are guaranteed to bring a squeal of delight from young and old alike when they are opened on Christmas morning. The craftsmanship that goes into the making of these items is just as appreciated today, as it was a hundred years ago. From wooden logging trucks, to wooden pull-a-long ducks, there is just nothing like a handmade wooden toy to bring back the warmth of Christmas's past.

For bachelors, or young people newly gone out on their own, there is nothing like receiving a gift of home baked goods. Boxes of homemade cookies or chocolates, tins of Christmas cake, banana bread, fudge or toffee. They are all very much appreciated even if they are quietly and quickly tucked away Christmas morning. These gifts are just being hidden so they can be savored later in the day as these homemade delicacies are considered just far too valuable to be shared with the other relatives on Christmas day.

Handmade sweaters, crocheted doilies, knitted blankets, wool mitts, thick slippers, and colorful scarves are as unique a gift item to be received today as they were a hundred years ago. Generally one of a kind and worked on for months, they are opened with a lot of fan fair, oohs, aahs, and laughter. The pride of the maker in her craft is usually very evident in her eyes, and these gifts are received, knowing exactly how much time and love has gone into creating them. They are much appreciated.

Jewelry made from leather and beads, handmade soaps and candles, adorned with pressed flowers and seeds. Ribboned sachets of potpourri, glittering tree ornaments, sewn oven mitts, placemats, and dresser scarves, there are just so many handcrafts that can be made and given at Christmas time.

Bath crystals, beads, soaps and oils in a variety of scents and colors are very popular as Christmas gifts. These items can easily be tucked into a stocking, given as a single gift, or placed within a basket of spa items to form a main gift. Giving homemade bath and spa items insures that you can personalize your gift to the person that you are creating it for. You also get to choose the ingredients
