Although, I agree that the energy crisis might be abating we still must take the situation seriously for the sake of future generations. We're in the the midst of the worst financial crisis since the "Great Depression", with foreclosure rates hitting all-time record levels. Consumers are now faced with tougher choices,we can't take those;"Sunday drives" with the family anymore. Discretionary income is little or nothing now and the middle class is suffering dramaticly. Work still has to be done to find cheaper, alternative energy and to remain committed to this pusuit. Years ago, when we were faced with the energy crisi of the 1970's , "lip service" was all that was given and we were faced with this new crisis. The eve of the Presidential elction is upon us and wer faced with this tough choice as well. With all of these difficulties, it is very important to come together as a stronger nation and "brainstorm" and implement new ways to alleviate any future crisis.

I admire investor,T-Boone Pickens who has recently been running commercials on alternative energy and this is getting more of the public on the "bandwagon". There are still sacrifices to be made, but we are a strong and resilient Nation and were blesseed with a great fortitude! Remember the movie,"PAY IT FORWARD" does anyone not think that that's what we should be doing? I certainly think so, it's time that we start selfless before we lose even more and sink into poverty! Martin Luther King made a speech almost fifty years ago and now is the time to reveiw those words and start living them!
To sum it up, we're living on a precarious tight-rope these days and it seems to be getting harder and more cumbersome each day, we must act now and use preventive maintenance to shore up our eroding economy. Yes, we're a strong nation but we must stay strong and we must once again become number one! Future generations are depending on our knowledge and I really don't envy the struggles that they must face! Maybe it could be time to live like our ancestors, it seemed to be simpler although I'm sure they had their challenges. Why is it that we're either afraid or too lazy to walk an extra mile or two? Or, ride a bicycle? Although I am happy to see less SUV's during my morning commute. Maybe we could save the environment and save money if we rode bicycles? What a no-brainer! There are many other solutions and ideas yet to be discussed, let's make sure that they are all brought to the table and given equal qpportunity for discussion.
