As I knelt down today before the Lord
Thanked Him for all the blessings of my day
The food on my table, the love of my family
The ability to live my life, my way
A small face I saw on TV came into my mind
A child malnutritioned and starved
With eyes, huge, full of unsaid words
Eyes that seemed to fill up the whole face
Despair and pain filled pools of innocence
My hands lifted up in prayer, my eyes filled with tears
This is to let you know, even so far away from you
You are never, ever, forgotton
From the depths of my heart and my soul
I said a prayer for you today

Poetry: I said a prayer for you today
by Crystal Cook
You crossed my mind today
as you so often do
I stopped for just a moment
and said a prayer for you
I asked our dear Lord
to be
I said a prayer for you today, and lit a candle as I prayed,
And in the brightness of the flame, it was as if you'd stayed.
God,
Bless the people on the street,
And those who have little to eat,
Bless the people who sleep in the cold,
And those who
I said a prayer for you today,
Listen while I pray,
Dear Lord,
I humble my heart and my mind to your wise and greater mind,
Please

My friend I said a prayer for you today,
As I bow my head and humbly say,
O Lord for my friend I pray,
Come now and bless
