24 Great Reasons To Write
Have you always wanted to write? It could be poetry, short stories, an article, a 'how-to' book or the next "War & Peace", it really doesn't matter. If you need a little motivation to get going or to keep going, here are two dozen great reasons to write.
1. Write to tell a story. It could be yours, someone else's or a story burning deep within your soul.
2. Write to express an idea.
3. Write to express yourself.
4. Write to get something off your chest or to call attention to a cause that you are passionate about.
5. Write to teach others what you know.
6. Write to show others how to do something. Do you know how to grow prize roses, or how to bake the most decadent chocolate cake? Do you know how to raise happy, healthy kids or how to make a fortune in real estate? Do you know how to build a website or a birdhouse? Share what you know and enrich the world.
7. Write to enlighten others and to share your perspective with the world.
8. Write to set an example.
9. Write to make money.
10. Write to travel.
11. Write to appear on TV & radio. Think about how many authors Oprah interviews.
12. Write to learn more about a subject. Every time I do research to write an article I learn something new about a subject. I've written hundreds of articles on dozens of topics under several pen names and each time I learn something new.
13. Write to become an expert in a field.
14. Write for a sense of accomplishment.
15. Write to make someone proud of you. My Mom loves to tell everyone who will listen that her daughter is an Internationally Published Author.
16. Write to inspire others.
17. Write to start a new hobby. I can't think of a more satisfying and productive pastime.
18. Write to turn spare time and TV Time into something more productive and lucrative. Spend 2 hours watching TV and that's it. The time is gone forever with nothing to show for it. But use those same two hours to write and you will have something that will last forever.
19. Write to meet new people. Writing can open the doors to meeting many new and interesting people.
20. Write to be interesting. Writing always gives you new things to talk about.
21. Write to make the world a better place.
22. Write to leave a legacy.
23. Write to influence future generations.
