Of course it will lets get real most people commute 20miles or more one way to work...now that is 40miles a day and 200miles a week without excess driving. Most cars we will say get around 25miles to the gallon to approximately 8gallons for the price of $3.89 a piece which works out to $125 dollars a month. Not bad but realistically weekend driving and running around will bring that total to 200-$250 a month...that is only for decent gas mileage car drivers...you can double that monthly total for trucks...$500 a month...ridiculous for people making under $50k a year. On top of that you need to remember that the economy is controlled heavily based on the cost of goods...with the cost of gas on the rise diesel fuel is ridiculously high which means that since companies are sinking more money into their trucks they are charging more for the transportation of goods. This causes the producers of these goods to spike prices to cover their losses in transportation costs.
I propose a 6-tier solution
First I would expand drilling in Alaska which is largely unpopulated and lets face it if drilling was as unsafe as most tree huggers make it out to be we wouldn't have any drilling on American soil. The truth is pipes break and kill wildlife and land about as often as hot women get elected as VPs of a country (Pallen).
Secondly I believe that every presidential election should be sponsored by a general pool that is generated from one election to the next. This is important because oil companies and other wealthy companies give millions to political candidates for campaign advertising. If we could get all TV broadcasting companies to allot a certain amount of advertising each election year to be given to the top respectable candidate from each party I believe we could start to stimulate the economy with that money going towards more useful things. Oh yeah and each candidate obviously needs a cap on how much they can spendwe should be able to cut each candidates funding in half respectfullyand generate over more time this way.
The third tier of the plan would be to barter military protection for oil to places like Kuwait which we already inhabit militarily speaking. And stop outsourcing all of our damn arms manufacturing and create factories here in the US to help produce the military might.
The fourth tier is an example of what a little good natured anti-capitalization could do. I would set a general cap on the salaries of industry leading CEOs...Yes I believe in capitalization
