Reflections: How will you be remembered?

As long as a man is alive the evaluation of his life as far as others who know him is a continuously changing identity. We evaluate others in light of our own needs and expections, and just as others communicate their influences upon us, so do we communicate our changing rhetoric to change others within our own changing worlds. We accept the identity assigned by our supervisors as long as the label is beneficial to us and to our other associations that overlap into the supervisors' influences. And we evaluate subordinate personalities, who are bothed changed by our expectations and change our expectations as well.

Alive we are remembered in many ways, by as many individual and groups of associates as we have lived to mingle with to influence and be influenced by. It is better, as the apostle James 2:1-10 points out, to humbly do what you have wisdom to do (James 2:4-5) than to seek your place in the respectable pecking order of liars (James 2:9-10; Ps 62:9; Matt 6:1-2).

When a man dies the testimony of his life is fixed (Ps 103:15-16; Heb 9:17) as much in the everlasting identity of what is truthfully recorded about him (Ps 103:17-18) as it is in the imaginary non-sense of hearsay and gossip (John 2:23-25) done by living men who seek to falsely elevate and falsely destroy (Malachi 4:4-6; Matt 17:10,11-12) the memory of the dead as it best suits the reputation of the living (Matt 23:29-33).

Abraham Lincoln believed that all men are created equal, but, throughout his life and into his Presidency, Lincoln felt that giving liberty to a people who had been brought up as sycophant slaves interested more self survival than an willingness to rise up in their greater numbers to liberate their survivors from those who oppress them, would be a detriment to themselves, their race and, as it is this day, a detriment to the nation who frees them into the only reverse discrimination captive minds can consider. Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation as a war stratagy in response to a similar stratagy of the Confederacy to give land and freedom to blacks who rose up to defence of the southern cause. And Lincoln wisely withheld the Emancipation Proclamation for months, unto the Union soldiers finally made such a great victory that the retreating Confederate soldiers themselves carried the word of the threat of Emancipation to the black slaves of the south.

We remember Abraham Lincoln as the man who believed all men are created equal, and reevaluate his thoughts, words and actions accordingly.

Jesus Christ came to set the example that any man lifted up to be the equal of God is an abomination (Habakkuk 2:4; Matt 10:34-36; Micah 7:4-6,7; Matt 19:17; 2Cor 5:19,21), and Jesus Christ who accepts the testimony of no sycophant (John 2:23-25) has never been heard about in any congregation since (Rom 15:20; Jer 31:33-34; Rom 15:21; 1John 2:24,27). All respectable men in the church (Jer 23:1-3) learn their chaff from each other (Jer 23:28-30) and lift wormwood high in their memories (Jer 23:15).

How will I be remembered? With at least the clarity that men remember Abraham Lincoln and Jesus Christ (Ps 49:10-15), but more importantly, I will remember again (Ecc 3:14-15; 4:1-3; Heb 9:17; Ps 103:15-16,17-18; Eze 37:4-8).
