Recipes: Quick and easy healthy dishes

A sandwich does not need meat to be good as proven by this salad sandwich. It is good, filling and tasty. Use a healthy whole wheat bread in place of the pumpernickel if you want or try it with pita bread.

* 8 ounces soft cream cheese
* 1/4 cup sour cream
* 1/4 cup chopped celery
* 1/4 cup grated carrot
* 2 tablespoons chopped radish
* 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
* 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
* pumpernickel bread

Mix all ingredients, except bread, thoroughly in a bowl. Spread about a third of a cup on bread and top with another piece of bread.
Recipe makes four sandwiches.

Worried about fat? You can make your own cream cheese by using fat free plain yogurt that has been allowed to drain through a cheese cloth until the right consistency.
