A stew that is quick, easy and filling is the goal of any cook in a hurry who wants to serve something good to her family.

There's no rule a stew has to be a stove-top dish and with this recipe the stew can go in the oven to cook to give mom the opportunity to spend time with her family.

* 1 1/2 pounds stew meat
* 1 can tomato soup
* 2 medium onions, sliced
* 1 can peas, drained
* 2 to 4 potatoes, sliced
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/2 cup water
* 2 to 4 carrots, sliced
* 1 teaspoon salt

Put ingredients in a two quart casserole with a lid. Bake at 275 for 2 hours.

Prepare ahead of time to pop in the oven. While it is cooking, have fun with the kids and work up a hardy appetite. Then have a bowl of delicious stew.
