Recipes: Salmon patty balls

Salmon Patty Balls are a terrific and tasty item to serve to a crowd or to serve to your family. They are easy to prepare but pack a big punch in the flavor department. Just like many other family favorites and party favorites, a person can find many different recipes for Salmon Patty Balls. For the purpose of this article, the following two recipes are favorites that can be used as balls or as patties depending on who or how you plan on serving them.

Salmon Patty Balls Recipe 1

Ingredients
1 (14.75 ounce) can salmon
2 Tbsp butter
1 onion, finely chopped
2/3 cup cracker crumbs
2 beaten eggs
1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
1 teaspoon dry mustard
Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

1. Drain salmon and reserve all of the liquid.
2. Break up the salmon into small pieces.
3. Melt butter and saute onion until softened.
4. In a bowl, add softened onions, and salmon liquid to 1/3 of the cracker crumbs, the eggs, the parsley, the dry mustard and the salmon.
5. Mix the ingredients together to blend well. Then shape into between 18 to 21 balls around 1 inches in diameter.
6. Roll the balls in the remaining cracker crumbs.
7. Deep fry the balls for 2 to 3 minute in vegetable oil until golden brown.
8. Drain on paper towels.

Salmon Patty Ball Recipe 2

Ingredients

1 (14 3/4 ounce) can salmon
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup diced green onions
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon fresh dill weed
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Procedure
1. Drain and flake salmon.
2. Combine breadcrumbs, green onions, lemon juice, mayonnaise, fresh dill weed, and garlic powder.
3. Mix ingredients together to combine well
4. Form mixture into 20 to 25 balls and place on a baking sheet that has been coated with non-stick cooking spray.
5. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.
6. Enjoy.

Salmon Patty Balls are tasty, and easy to make. They can be used to serve a large crowd, as finger food, or to serve a family, in the shape of patties, with accompanying sides. Recipe 2 offers a healthy choice as it is baked not fried and contains a limited amount of fat.
