Autumn is a cool time of the year that can bring warmth into your home. It is an opportunity to create a new look revitalizing the home. Providing a new look for a home doesn't have to be a complicated affair. It can be done cheaply and in a variety of ways using nature. Below are some ideas that will bring the feel of fall inside a home.

1. Pick small sticks of different lengths. If the same length is preferred trim the stick with a wood carving knife. Be sure to trim away sticks that may have twigs growing off of the side. Make sure the sticks are free of debris before bringing indoors. Use a wide decorative ribbon of your choosing to bind the sticks together in the middle by taping or gluing the ribbon together.

Leave sticks propped by a window, fireplace, or place in a clear glass vase that sits on the floor. To place sticks in a vase first place stick in vase followed by accent gems. Accent gems are circular rock like formations used for decoration that can be found in multiple colors or clear.

2. Buy a wreath that is made of sticks or twigs. Wreaths can be bought at extremely cost friendly places such as a dollar store. Buying a plain wreath will provide an opportunity to glue personal favorite items on a wreath.

Place flowers associated with the Autumn season around the home. Be sure to use a clear vase and place vibrant dark colored rocks at the bottom of the vase or accent gems. Flowers such as Aster, Joe Pye Weed, Helenium, Crown of Rays Goldenrod, Russian Sage are often available in this season.

3. A tablepiece signifying autumn can be constructed by placing a large bowl (clear or colored) with small pumpkins, a variety of nuts, and red apples (or other preferred apples). An option to further decorate the bowl is glue or tape a wide ribbon around the bowl.

To invoke the feel of Autumn use the colors of brown, orange, and yellow. Do not crowd the home with a lot of decorations as too many Autumn theme items are overwhelming to the eye. Key places to decorate are the front or back door, steps that lead to the fireplace or to the side of the fireplace, tables, corner of porch steps, and window sills. Create a personal touch by adding personal items when possible to decorations. Keep in mind that many items used to create Autumn indoors can be purchased at cost saving stores. A store that sells items for ten dollars or less is a good place to start.
