Flu season is looming, and your Immune System is lacking. Here are three steps to putting your body's Immune System in fighting form.
Sleep is a key component to building a strong immune system. Not just your sleep at night, but short "power" naps throughout the day. There are several ways to address our lack of rest. First, absolutely no bedroom should have a television, computer, or video game player in it. Bedrooms should be a place of respite from the rest of the world, and be the most serene and relaxing place in your home. A small stereo with relaxation music is a great tool to convert your sleeping quarters into a haven of Zen.
Secondly, exercise of any form will not only boost your energy levels, it will also boost your immune system. Exercise reduces stress and anxiety, thus contributing to better sleep. Exercise also makes us sweat which allows are body to excrete our toxins more rapidly. A good regular adjustment by your local Chiropractor or a treatment from a Kinesiologist, Acupuncturist or a licensed Massage Therapist can also help to remove toxins from your body, thus reducing further strain to your immune system.
Lastly, a good diet can literally make or break your body's ability to fight off any kind of illness and disease. Vegetables and fruits in a wide ranch of color should be the highest intake, since they are loaded with antioxidants. Meats that are not processed, low in fat content, and that are preferably not beef or pork, are the best for our body's digestive system, as well as, for nutrition values. Fish, fish, and fish are always good, as well as, chicken and turkey. Also, change your beverages up this winter to include more tea, and don't forget the honey. Teas are not only full of natural antioxidants; they are also a natural fluoride for your teeth. Green, white and black teas, as well as, a variety of other herbal tea are delicious hot or cold and are a compliment healthy entres.
All these steps are a great recipe to not only fighting the flu; they are a great recipe for life.
