Blue
A drop startle ripples
On the tranquil surface
Whilst waves of power thrum beneath.
Life blossoms and flourishes
With the backdrop of the blues.
Grief strikes in the night
And tears are shed in the morning
Under the clear, cloudless sky,
Calming with a sweet and gentle rain.
Gentle notes floating by,
A soft and soothing tune.
Though vibrant, all is concealed
What mysteries lie beneath?
Steadfast and strong,
Standing there, eternally and forever.
Deep waters, shining with life
And gentle waves lapping on the shore
Completing the blissful scene.
This freedom to live this way,
Unhurried, unrushed and carefree
Brings sapphire joy and the sweetness
Of a single, cold blue berry Icee
On a hot summer afternoon.
All this and more in life is colored blue,
Sweet and perfect blue,
The same blue I see in
Your eyes.
