Everyone knows the age old use of dinner and a movie for a first date, but this is a road block in the beginning. The purpose of a first date is to find out if that person is worthy of further moments of your time or a potential mate. How are you going to get to know more of them by stuffing your face in a crowded restaurant or being silent during a movie? Get some quality time activities that can focus on the two of you.

The ever present romance of a walk in the park, beach, mountains, etc. is one way. There is nothing to hinder conversation. Face it if you want more time with a person you have to be able to talk to them. Communication is the first factor of a relationship. Be playful instead of romantic for a first date. Laughter will be remembered further. Walks don't have to be boring, choose a setting that can spark conversation and playful time.

If you live in a scenic area, find a quiet lookout or spot that is beautiful and bring a picnic. Nothing to elaborate, just some fruits, cheese, crackers and wine to enjoy over conversation not hinder it. Know a bit of information about where you are going so that in lingering moments of silence you can point out a fact or two to begin another topic.

If dinner is in the cards, find a place that is small and quiet that you have fun with. In the city there is usually a unique place like rooftops or bridge restaurants. Theme dinner places can be entertaining and still give more topics for conversation. Murder mystery dinner theatres are great in that you have to talk about what is going on to figure out the plot. Many of them will get you involved with the process to eliminate suspects and the participation factor is more enjoyable to patrons.

Museum trips are a plus. There are numerous subjects to talk about and you learn more about each other's likes and dislikes. It doesn't have to be the art ones only, there are establishments of every kind that doesn't have to fill stuffy. A fun one is Tennessee is the Dukes of Hazard Cooter's Garage that has memorabilia of the show and runs some of the programs while you look.

Parks and Amusements like Seaworld can work wonders of fun time with conversation still allowed. It is a memorable time that will be talked about again and again. You can talk about the animals and it can relate to show a bit of how your emotions run. If you talk sweetly about an animal you are interested in, then she knows that you will talk about her in the same manner.

Time at the beach making sandcastles, walking the sands and playfully splashing through the surf is another suggestion. Don't use it as a time to show off, but time to share the pleasure of the area with the date.

Making a first date memorable is as important as the conversation. A fun time with lots of laughter will be taken further than the usual sitting silently across a table of food. It is a way to show your date your true personality and emotions towards life. This time will also come in handy for memories if your relationship does go further.
