Movies about friendship are not hard to come by; there are thousands of them! Some of them make you weep, some make you laugh, and some anger you. The best ones though, do all of that. The best movies about friendship evoke every emotion that a true real friendship does. It resembles the trials and tribulations that your own friendships are laced with, and reminds you that you too have a relationship like that on the screen. Of course, we all have our favorites, but there are some that just reach out and pull your heartstrings without you even expecting it. I will list some of my favorite friendship movies of all time, and hope that you might agree.

~'Beaches'.
Naturally, this will be on many a list. But it might be the biggest best friend movie of all time. Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey drag us through their dramatic tale of a friendship that lasts for the better part of their lives. Through marriages, divorce, career highs and lows, and finally death, these two women traverse through one harrowing tragedy to the next, all the while remaining perfect friends.

~'Steel Magnolias'.
Another classic movie that would top anyone's list. This movie stars some of the biggest actresses of our time, with Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley Maclaine, Olympia Dukakis, and Julia Roberts. It is the story of a group of women who live in a small town and share their lives and tragedy's together. It is laced with humor, sorrow, joy, and success.

~'Toy Story'.
Yes, it is an animated film, but it is laced with friendship, unity, and gives children the best examples on how to behave. Woody is Andy's favorite toy out of an entire room full. That is, until Buzz Lightyear comes along with his fancy lasers and action wings. But since both boys love their owner, they are forced to get along and become the best of friends. This movie reeks of best friends, and it is clever as well as funny.

~'Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood'.
True, this movie does center around a mother and daughter, but it is based upon the close kinship of four women who have been best friends for most of their lives. They help one another out, and seemingly go to extremes just to protect one another, or defend each other. This is truly a great movie.

I would also like to mention The Goonies', Forrest Gump', and E.T', as great movies about best friends. Though they are not among my personal favorites, I would also consider My Girl', as well as Stand by me', as great movies about best friends. So rent some DVD's and pop some popcorn and invite your best friend over to watch some of the greatest best friend movies of all time.
