There have been many memorable dance scenes in the movies, such as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, billed the most famous dance team to hit the screen. They made a total of ten movies together that still delight with their simple plots and memorable dance scenes. To this day no dance team has come close to the grace and elegance of this inspiring dance team.

Another famous dancer was Gene Kelly, most widely known for his dance scene in the movie "Singing in the Rain". An innovative dancer as shown in the movie, "Anchors Away", where he choreographed a dance with Gerry the mouse. Gene Kelly is known for being the first dancer to dance with an animated character on screen. While filming Gene enlisted the aid of the most famous director of animation in the world, Walt Disney.

When it comes to memorable dance scenes who could forget Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip as they glide across the dance floor in the famous animation, "Sleeping Beauty". The work of Walt Disney brings his characters to life on the big screen with grace and elegance.

The most memorable dance scene in any movie in the 1980's would have to be Patrick Swayze (Johnny) and Jennifer Grey (Francis, ie: Baby)in the movie "Dirty Dancing". The name of the movie fits the style of dancing, because it has to be the hottest dancing ever put on a screen. When they dance their bodies become one moving in unison. The moves bring new meaning to the word, sensual.

Even though their style of dancing is different from that of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers who seemed to be dancing on air, or the tap dancing scene of Gene Kelly and Jerry the mouse, or even the waltz of love between Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip. Swayze and Grey make the moves seem so effortless and unrehearsed, as though the dance was always a part of them, just waiting to come to life on the dance floor.

I remember when the movie first came out, my teenage daughter couldn't get enough of it. In fact she completely wore out the first vcr tape that I bought and then pleaded with me until I broke down and bought another one. Now you have to admit Patrick Swayze is hot and what a dancer. Their acting was so well executed that the relationship between the two stars seemed to be more than just acting. And when they danced, oh how they danced. Every woman in America was envious of Jennifer, I'm sure.

The main dance is at the end of the movie when Jennifer (Baby) is at the last show of the season at the resort they stayed at and she is sitting

Would the movie, Dark Knight, have been as successful if Heath Ledger hadn't died?
