How the Simpsons changed my life

The Simpson's is not just a TV show. It's more than just a Historical 20 year old cartoon sitcom. It's even bigger than the feat it carries day to day, the fact that it's the longest running animated television show, with top ratings and strong syndication.

The Simpson's is a family that manages to grab its audience with so much crazy humor, yet allowing us to relate to their lives on a whole other level.

They are crude yet loving, they are adventurous yet reliable. It's as though they have their own humanistic emotions that drag us in and keeps us watching year after year.

I was young when they started. At an age where being allowed to "stay up past my bed time" to watch them was a special treat. Not all parents today would agree with me, that it could be considered a show for the whole family to view together. Personally, I see it as a show that brings families tighter.
Through out my youth Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie were faces I used as a comfort. They brought smiles to my face at the end of a stressful day. They brought relentless one-liner jokes to the family dinner table. I can't even begin to count how many inside gags my father and I have and share between each other from these guys.

Today I have the Joy of passing along the tradition that is "The Simpson's" to my Daughter. We watch our favorite characters each night around dinner time. Bringing a routine of family snuggles on the couch. Each Episode never fails to result in smiles and merriment. This cartoon family has even helped in bonding, joining together a stronger relationship between my daughter and her Step-Father. They now have that same ritual my daddy and I had, having millions of "inside jokes" between them and a passion for the show that is unfailing.

More than 20 years and a Movie under their belt simply can not be denied as anything else but quality greatness. It's Reliability and comedic writers that have talent I Could not even begin to match let alone find in my right hand pinkie finger. It's a show that will inevitably bring you the light-heartedness one needs in their lives as individuals. Persons who stretch themselves thin everyday with work and responsibilities. Homer Simpson is the answer to the insanity we all crave but deny our selves of every day. Bart is the dare devil we have deep down but rarely let out of our system. Lisa, the artistic and smartest one of them all, the child that shows us it's great to stand out and accept our own unique talents. Marge level headed but just as crazy as the rest, watching her makes you truly respect those "stay at home" mommy's and the real strength they have. Let's not forget Maggie, the wisest and most loyal she doesn't have to say anything to grab your attention. The Simpson's is guaranteed addicting.
