If you were God, which of the deadly sins would you remove

The idea of being God for this quick moment is too hard to pass up. If I could remove any of the seven deadly sins, which one would I remove? The deadly sins were used to scare sinners to repent. The deadly sins were rules that the Catholics enforced to stabilize a peaceful community. Like most of the Old Testament, they were written by priests to organize society into what they thought was right. There is no where in the Bible that refers to these deadly sins. It wasn't until the 4th century that a monk had written down his list of "evil thoughts" that it had become popular. Since, there have been a number of versions, but I will use the Catholic Church list as it is used now.

The first is PRIDE. In almost all of the deadly sin lists, pride it thought to be the most serious. Pride is thought to be the desire of wanting more than you already have. Pride makes you want to be better than everyone else and is the core for all the other deadly sins.

The second deadly sin is AVARICE. This is a fancy word for greed. It's similar to lust and gluttony in the sense of extensiveness. The church believes greed to be related to wealth. The church did not believe in black mail or hording. Men who did this were seen as sinners.

ENVY was the third deadly sin. When someone is envious they wish to see others suffer. They gain slight pleasure in others faults. Envy is wanting something you don't have and thus crave it. It is much like greed, but at the same time completely different. Greed is wanting an object while envy is wanting someone's life.

WRATH is the same as anger. Anger leads to self denial and impatience. It can result in violence, or doing something without thinking.

The fifth deadly sin was LUST. We all know how the Catholics feel about inappropriate sexual thoughts. Lust was on the list to make sure people were afraid to have sex. They blame rape and incest on lust.

GLUTTONY reaches number six on the deadly sins list. Gluttons over indulge. They take more than what they need and as a result become fat and filthy. Depending on where you lived, gluttons may have been approved of. It may have been a sign of authority. For the Catholics, there is no room in the church for a glutton. The Catholics believe in helping out your fellow neighbor. No one should ever indulge.

The last deadly sin is SLOTH. Today it has a much different meaning that what it had started out with. When it was first used it was used as a term for depression. It was in short the refusal of seeing the
