Can Hillary Clinton be an effective president?

It seems to me that in order to get behind someone and truly support them for public office, particularly the United States Presidency, one should learn as much as possible about the candidate.

Hillary has a history. She has always been a radical. She associated with many of the same types of people in her college days that people are berating Barrack Obama for associating with. Her father was a die-hard Republican. She rebelled, and was quite frankly, a hippie. She married Bill Clinton with more than just being an attorney who was politically active in mind. Hillary has always desired power. It is part of her psyche. One only needs to research her efforts to get Bill elected as State Senator from Arkansas, then, failing that, Governor of Arkansas. The women of Arkansas were not exactly partial to their First Lady. She was over bearing and not particularly polite to the Southern ladies. She often scorned them and viewed herself as superior.

As our country's first lady, she often showed disdain for people when she didn't think she was being observed or heard; nevertheless, after leaving the White House, she was elected State Senator from New York, a place that she really never hailed from. Her opponent self-destructed or she might not have attained that position.

Once her husband had completed his second term in office, and it was time to move out, she took things that she full well knew were meant to stay there. Her staff removed the Ws from all the keyboards there. I ask you, is this honorable? We know that her husband was unfaithful to their marriage, but her unauthorized biography says that she was also unfaithful with a leader of her husband's campaign for governor. This person is now deceased, so there is no point in using his name.

Certainly there are times that our elected officials do things that we find out about after the fact and wish we had known sooner, but we know these things up front. Why are we so shallow that, as long as we think a politician will succumb to satisfying our "wants", we will vote for him/her. Ethics matter. Granted, those who run for office are not usually the epitome of ethical decision making, but shouldn't we try to elect those who have demonstrated integrity?

I keep hearing that we don't want to know history and backgrounds, only what their plans are for handling the tough problems such as the economy, the war, etc. Yes, that is priority, but doesn't the kind of person he or she is weigh in as far as how much we can believe what they say.

Hillary has not been honest with the American people any more than her husband was. Our children hear these things on the television news. Do we want to teach them that unethical behavior is alright if you are a public electee - that anything goes to get elected and stay in office? I personally want my grandchildren to hear me list the qualifications of the persons for whom I vote, among them, morals, integrity, honesty and patriotism. This matters!

From what I have seen, heard and read about Mrs. Clinton, I would guess that she would be a self-serving president who keeps a lot of things under wraps. The National Organization for Women are vocal supporters of Hillary, but they are not truly an organization for all women, only women who will advance their liberal causes - for which they can count on Hillary Clinton.
