Giving gifts at Christmas is the heart beat of the season. It's convenient to have such a variety of plausible gifts available for purchase at so many stores during the holiday, but nothing holds value like a homemade gift from the heart.
We've strayed from giving gifts that we make because of this convenience and because we don't have faith or abilities within ourselves to make something nice. We feel that the only really good gifts are store bought, but that is not true. Here are a few suggestions for homemade Christmas gifts that will bless everyone.
Flower arrangement: You can go collect all the ingredients for a perfect silk flower arrangement from any craft store or major department store. There are books available to show you how to make them, along with all the tools necessary to craft it with perfection. The only thing left for you is to choose the base, the flowers and the ornaments. It's a gift that will become a treasure, not only for it's beauty and worth, but because you made it.
Homemade wine: Many people make their own wine and give it as gifts. You can purchase special bottles and corks or lids, as well as cloth or leather gift bags to carry the bottle in. You can even prepare your own label for the bottle to make it even more personal. It's a gift that will be greatly received.
Homemade candies & chocolates: You can purchase a special Christmas cookie can, line it with a decorative paper and then fill it with a selection of homemade Christmas candies and chocolates. This is a unique gift that you can't buy at a store.
Homemade desserts: You could purchase a large Christmas cookie can, line it with coloured paper and fill it with a selection of homemade cookies and specialty desserts. Again, this unique gift could never be purchased at a store.
Pictures: You could take a picture of you and your family, or of anyone or anything that you know would bless the person you're giving it to. Frame it in a frame that suits their home dcor and then wrap it in coloured tissue paper inside a Christmas box that's bound with satin ribbons. It's a gift they'll treasure forever.
Blankets, Afghans, Doilies: If you're good at crocheting or knitting, you could create a myriad of blankets, afghans or doilies to suit the person you're giving to. Not only would they have a nice item, but it would be exactly to their taste.
Quilts: If you're good at sewing and you can get all the colours and designs from your person, you could create for them a fabulous quilt that not only
