Of course online daters are real couples...they may be the best kind of couple. If it's their choice to not show eachother pictures of themselves; then their relationship is defeniatly based on their compatibility and not looks. People that mean only get to really know eachother before they have to meet eachother. And I know some people argue that anyone can lie over email. Yeah, that's true...and their lies can catch up with them. But not everyone is interested in lying to someone. No matter how hard it is to believe, there are honest people in the world.

I think one of the number one things people will lie about on the internet is their age and appearance. This is easily proven false or true; just ask for a picture. I knoww, pictures of attractive men and woman can be found anywhere on the internet. Another easy fix. Ask them to do or wear something specific in the picture. Or better yet, ask them to be holding a piece of paper with the next days date in the picture. Than you know it's them.
And people talking over emails can take it up another step before meeting their partner, or having to give out any personal information. There are programs on the computer that will allow people to talk with microphones. It's an easy search over Google or Yahoo.
Then when the two people really trust eachother they can decide to start talking over the phone or writing eachother actual letters and sending them in the mail. And along with these letters other things can be sent; little gifts, pictures, etc.
And usually online daters DO meet, and that is when their relationship excels. Not when it starts, but when it moves on. Dating online first is just a different beginning to two peoples relationships. And when the couple (usually the woman is the last one to agree to do this) is really ready they can decide to meet. Yes, usually they meet in a public place...but that's true of any first date. Most people who go on blind dates or on dates with someone they meet in the grocery store meet at the movies, a restruant, or a little diner. So really there's not difference between meeting someone from the internet for the first time and going on a first date.
People really need to start opening their eyes and minds and realize just because two people don't meet the conventional way; their relationship is not any less real then others. It may be in fact, more true.
