here's some brief thoughts on the sixsixsix stuff...

"666" is usually identified with the the judaeo-christian religion. however, "666" is not in the bible(the holy book of the judaeo-christian religions). in the original language it's written(spelled out) "six hundred, three score and six"

so the best we can muster is "six hundred sixty-six", it's never "666". hollywood and the illiterate conspiracy theorists have always gotten it wrong. (examples: "the omen" and the schwarzenegger movie "End of Days" among many others )

and another misinterpretation is that the literal number "666" will be a mark on anyone. the number appears in a vision/dream given to a guy named John in the last book of New Testament part of the Bible (revelation).

since the number six is associated with the sixth day of creation - the day when God creates humanity - you could reason that this "666" number is a representation of the magnification of man's rejection of God.

this "666" is usually called the number of the beast or "the number of man". it's basically symbolic to the idea of man's rebellion against God; a symbol of humanity's blatant turning-away from God.

so the number of man (sixhundredsixtysix) is written upon the heads and right hands of those who choose to turn away from God. this is not a literal thing because we know that according to Jewish scripture and tradition, the head represented your mind, your thoughts, your will. and your right hand was always the symbol of your strength, your actions.

so symbolically(and literally i guess) if you take on the number of the beast, it means both your mind and strength are in submission to the beast. you are basically submitting your soul to the beast. you are giving in to the will of that which is contrary to God.

that's my quick offthecuff summary of the meaning of the sixhundredsixtysix in the book of revelation....okay enough of the preaching.
