If I Were to Tell You
If I were to tell you I wanted you to be happy,
As long as you leave me alone to live the way I choose,
Would you believe that your happiness was really important to me?
If I were to tell you that I upheld your decisions,
And then continually criticized you for those decisions,
Would you feel my support?
If I were to tell you that I loved and adored you,
Then spent my free time in a bar with my friends,
Would you feel loved and adored?
If I were to tell you I wanted children, a second chance to have a family,
Then left you with the mundane tasks of raising them,
Would you appreciate my wants?
If I were to tell you its rude to touch a person,
And then pawed and petted every waiter I knew,
Would you respect my sense of propriety?
If I were to tell you that we are a team,
But everything we have is mine and you can leave any time,
Would you feel my allegiance?
If I were to tell you good-bye,
Would you wonder why I was leaving?

Struggling words......

Falling but never staying

Words on a paper,
Piercing my heart.
My eyes blur before me,
As I read the words, words, words.....
Spelling it all out before
I danced with the devil,
Because he fed me a line,
Words upon words,
Mixed with rose colored lies.
Words of deception,
Flowed
