Winning the war against terrorism

and a moral lifestyle. Now, consider the fact that this same nation accepts, condones, and even promotes, that which is in direct opposition to its stated and accepted belief system. - Very confusing isn't it? - This isn't an imaginary social exercise. The nation of which we speak is the modern day United States of America.

This situation was created by a legal system and a government that have attempted to satisfy the so called individual rights and personal freedoms of any self-interest driven group that came along. This was done in support of various lobby efforts as a means of garnering political support. How can a government support behavior that it is historically against? How does that government expect society to react when it becomes evident that it is being told that its belief system is no longer valid? Is it any wonder that we see such wholesale inappropriate behavior at every level?

The bottom line in this area is that political, business, professional and individual behavior must reflect more than a desire for ever increasing power and/or income. Selfish behavior has changed the path of these United States. Yes, many of the most prominent American citizens and politicians have sold out their nation. There must be a point at which such behavior becomes more than merely bad, immoral or wrong. Depending on how far it strays from what is considered normal in human terms, we must consider whether it may in fact be inhuman behavior.

As previously mentioned, the legal system is in drastic need of a complete overhaul. Perhaps we need an area of prosecution and punishment that deals only with acts that are deemed to be in the realm of inhuman behavior. There must be appropriate consequences for inappropriate behavior in all areas of human endeavor. The law must be fair and uniformly applied to all. Consequences must truly reflect the actual damage done to society and the nation.

Effective Prevention and Punishment of Terrorist Acts - Fighting terrorism is very unlike conventional warfare. Terrorists can operate from most anywhere and may not be openly supported by any nation. They are extremely unconventional and with a small force can completely disrupt even the most powerful nation. What tends to make them the most dangerous is that they have little regard for innocent human life or their own life. The acts of 9/11 and the ongoing 'human bomb' activity in Afghanistan, Iraq and Israel are a very vivid illustration of this.

Large scale conventional warfare
