I am a new mother of a beautiful baby girl. At a time when I should be doing nothing but caring for her well being and enjoying every minute I spend with her, I am constantly worried about what will happen when I go back to work. How will I bond with my child? Someone else will get to see her firsts? The thought of another person being there when my child falls and scrapes her knees tears at my heart. Or when she says something funny and I have to hear about it from the babysitter. Or what if she's abused while I was out making a buck or two. All this because of the 'Women's Right' movement.
I agree women should have the choice to work or stay at home. However, it is no longer a choice. It has become a necessity. The world that use to run on one income now requires two. But the cost of living has also gone up accordingly. Two incomes are the equivalent of one income in the 1960s. How many of us with two income families continue to struggle to make ends meet? All this AND we have to let others raise our children while we 'work'! How does that help a family?
Women going to work has done nothing but line the pockets of men who primarily run our cities, and countries. Have you heard of the 'tax-man'? Yup. Everytime a women 'chooses' to go to work another mans pockets get thicker. And our children miss us.
And, it's not just government officials. The big CEOs love women working to. Especially those in the oil industry, food industry and the pharmaceutical industry. Families live such a fast paced life, that often they overlook good food and good food choices. Products containing, less nutrients and high amounts of sugar and fats like granola bars, and pudding have replaced healthy sandwiches. We all know what happens when a child has too much sugar. It leads to behavioural problems that are soon labled disorders, for which the doctor will prescribe a drug. A win for the pharmaceutical industry. And the family deals with the new lable.
Not only do these industries want women working but they want women working very soon after the birth of a child. Maternity leave? The shorter the better. The sooner a mother returns to work, the sooner baby has to be weaned from breast. ENFAMIL, NESTLE and SIMILAlC all add to their collection. Early introduction of formula can lead to allergy problems. Add a few more bucks to the pharmaceutical account. Who cares about a new borns developing neurosystem? or immune system? All at the expense of health and family well being.
Oh, and we must not forget the car we need to get to work. The oil-man wins.
Yes our husbands are over worked to! Because the average man is not the CEO of a large multi-national corporation, he to is expected to bring home the bacon adnd then help cook it. So he too is exhausted by the end of the night. An exhausted mother. A tired father. Neglected children. No family time. Rich government. Wealthy CEOs. All in the name of 'Women's Rights'.
I agree with women fighting for their right to vote, with their right to be respected and not be used as bags by barbaric men but didn't we have enough work taking care of our families? I agree with the choice to work. We no longer have a choice. So, are we liberated? Now we do more than ever and what about our families? Yes they suffer. Tremendously.
