Small Town Bliss
A tiny boy
runs happily across
his parents' yard
chasing his dog
who barks merrily
while his young mother
watches in silly worship,
content, until she turns
and is met with the angry eyes
of her husband-
so she finishes her turn
and goes back
to facing the joyful yard,
leaving her secret behind her.
