WHEN SHOULD BABIES GET RIGHTS?
Obama gets do over
Once again, referring to Rick Warrens question posed to Barrack Obama at the Saddleback Civil Forum (08/16/2008), George Stephanopoulos on "thisweek"(09/07/2008), gave Obama another chance to answer this basic question. Once again Obama was incapable of answering the question. Instead of answering "when do babies get rights" he tried to defend woman's rights. Obama either does not understand the question or he is dodging the question. Most likely the later is true. He would not want to say anything that could offend his special interest partners like NOW, NARAL or Planned Parenthood.
On the earlier try, he elaborately stated "trying to answer that question with specificity is above my pay grade". Excuse me, this is a U.S. Senator who has sworn to up hold the Constitution and he feels he's not qualified to answer this question. On the do over, Obama said what he wanted to communicate on the earlier attempt was that he didn't know when babies got their souls. Well, the question as I understood it was not about souls & the right to enter God's Kingdom but basic human or Constitutional rights. We can leave the theological opinion to Nancy Pelosi, who doesn't believe speaking for the Pope is above her pay grade. After all, she is the Supreme Leader of the House. Both Obama and Pelosi seem to have difficulty with the First Amendment. Can't they keep religion out of politics?
So, a few follow up questions must be asked of Obama. Does the Constitution only protect people with souls? If we have souls, from which animal did they evolve from? Does a baby who survived a failed abortion attempt have a soul? Or, are souls only given out upon registering to the Obama campaign and making a $5 donation? How does one prove he has a soul, so he may be entitled to rights?
Why, when asked such a basic question, can't he give an answer other than "present". As both Speaker Pelosi and Senator Obama are sworn legislators of the United States of America, both should at least be able to give the official answer. A baby gets protection from the U.S. Constitution when it is born alive. When the head is outside of the womb and the heart is beating. To be a natural born citizen, you must first be born. It's not a difficult question or answer.
Now, in my opinion, it's not that simple. The question did not specify Constitutional rights. Humans have rights above those in the Bill of Rights or Interpretations by the Supreme Court . I like the rights
