Recipes: Homemade mac and cheese

Homemade macaroni and cheese is a delicious, nutritious and easy to prepare meal. If you can boil water than you have sufficient talent to prepare a meal of macaroni and cheese. It is that easy!

HOMEMADE MACARONI AND CHEESE RECIPE
Ingredients:

Two cups elbow macaroni (If you want lots of leftovers use 3 cups of macaroni and a large pot!)
Two heaping tablespoons nonhydrogenated margarine


Three very heaping tablespoons of Kraft Cheese Whiz
Water
Salt and Pepper to taste

1. Begin by selecting a medium to large size pot and filling it half full of water.

2. Bring water to a boil over medium high heat.

3. When water is boiling add two cups of your basic elbow macaroni and one tablespoon of the margarine. Stir frequently to prevent macaroni from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

4. Macaroni is usually cooked in around ten minutes. Be sure to read the directions on the package that you have purchased. Macaroni is generally cooked when it changes to a lighter color and expands in shape. You can conduct a taste test to be sure that it is cooked. Simply pull a macaroni out of the pot every couple minutes past the seven minute mark to taste it(just be forewarned that it won't taste as good as it would covered in cheese sauce)!

5. Drain your cooked macaroni in a strainer. Pop your drained macaroni into a serving dish. Stir in the Cheeze Whiz and remaining tablespoon of margarine and you are done. Voila!

But now just to be extremely difficult, I am going to tell you how to turn that basic macaroni and cheese dinner into a super duper, zesty macaroni and cheese meal that will make your tongue do backflips in your mouth.

All you need is a frying pan, a small onion, a green pepper and three slices of bacon. Dice those three slices of bacon into little chunks and fry them at medium heat in the frying pan. While they are cooking you can chop up your little onion and your green pepper into bite sized chunks. Don't forget to stir that bacon every now and then so it cooks nice and evenly. When the bacon looks like it is cooked to your satisfaction then add the green pepper and onion into the pan. Fry them up a little. Not too much though because vegetables are kind of good a little firm in texture.

Using a spatula pour the contents of the frying pan in with the macaroni and cheese. Insure that you get as much of the bacon fat as you are able to because it is going to give your homemade macaroni and cheese an unbelievable zing.

Stir it all together and give it a try. It is amazing how a few little add-ins can turn Mac and cheese into a gourmet meal.
