Good morals translate into good behaviour towards others around you and as is the law of the Universe, what you reap is what you sow. At some point this good behaviour will be rewarded even if you have no expectations of it. People do not usually forget what others have done for them and they feel duty bound to return a favour in some way or another.
Having good morals keeps you on the right path in life and helps you in your individual journey in this world. It is a decision you have made and it shows the strength in you as a person to have taken that stand. Sometimes it is easier to just go with the crowd and leave the morals behind, but to decide not to follow the crowd takes a courageous person indeed. This is especially true for young people who are bullied and teased if they do not behave as their peers are behaving.
A good set of moral values will keep not only a family together but if these values are passed on as a community then you can all grow together as good human beings. You start to make a difference and that is so important in modern society where morals are replaced so easily by whatever is easy or 'cool'. Incidents of crime would be reduced and society would be much safer.
Parents should instil good behavioural traits in their children as in today's society freedom of speech can sometimes encourage rudeness in children It becomes vital to lay good moral foundations in children to prevent them becoming anti social members of society. Parents and teachers have an important function in society as they are educating the next generation so all efforts should be made to discipline and correct disruptive behaviour the moment they see it start. Rewarding children for good behaviour and spending quality time with them to keep communication channels open is vital. Switching the television off during family times, watching educational channels and having days out to places of interest all help to educate your growing child's mind.
Good morals are also important in politics which is a dirty game. If politicians put aside their greed and hunger for power and replaced these with values of morality and a vision to improve the lives and conditions of their people then the problems of corruption and poverty could be eradicated or at least reduced. There would be enough for all and no one would be homeless or hungry. In this case good morals would definitely pay.
