polluted, and thus undone any possible good my involuntary work might have done had it my my choice, my heart's desire to do it.
Charity is of the heart. It is an act that arises out of a thought in the mind, that had arisen from the goodness of the heart. It is an act resultant from the small inner voice in each of us that so often says, "Heck, I'd like to get involved in that; I think I could help or make a small difference in someone's life."
In closing, here are some definitions of what is charity:
1. Provision of help or relief to the poor; almsgiving.
2. Something given to help the needy; alms.
3. An institution, organization, or fund established to help the needy.
4. Benevolence or generosity toward others or toward humanity.
5. Indulgence or forbearance in judging others. See Synonyms at mercy.
6. often Charity Christianity The theological virtue defined as love directed first toward God but also toward oneself and one's neighbors as objects of God's love.
On point number 6 above, I'm glad the dictionary points that out about the relationship and the kindred spirits of charity and God's Love. The Bible is full of those Truths, but to find it in the secular dictionary, well, wow, and good for you Mr. Webster. Charity is indeed associated with God and interchangeable with His Love.
I leave you with a thought about the word "Good". When you do "good" you are the instruments of God's love in action for others. Therefore, the word good is "Go[and your love for]o[thers]d" in action! Now that's GOOD!
Good, and may God bless your voluntary charitable acts of kindness, for you are indeed His earthen vessels, His hands of kindness, arms of love and mouth of tenderness and comfort!
