Picture this: hot, sticky, muggy, humid, sweltering, and sweating. Now picture yourself sitting in front of a cool breeze that the whole family can enjoy and benefit from. Not only does the air conditioning cool you off, it will also help take that sticky and uncomfortable humidity from the air. Air conditioning is more than just a luxury.

As I type this, I am enjoying the benefits of my small window air conditioning unit. Being cool and comfortable helps me concentrate better.

Being an asthma sufferer, I can tell you that air conditioning is also essential to my health and well being. When I suffered an asthma attack recently and had to call 911, where did I wait for the ambulance to come? You got it, as close to my air conditioning unit as humanly possible. An air conditioner will help to filter dust, allergens, and humidity from the air. With out an air conditioning unit, I would undoubtedly be very sick.

There are many types of air condition available. From central air in our homes to the air conditioner in our car, air conditioning comes in all sizes. Home window units are especially handy if you cannot afford the cost of central air. I personally have 2 window units in my ranch style home, and they cool the area off nicely. Window units will come in a few different sizes as well, so your individual needs may be met.

In very hot climates, air conditioning is a must. We lived in Texas for only 3 short months and used air conditioning constantly. One day I tried laying by the pool and it was simply too hot. The heat was making me sick, and I was so grateful to head back to our apartment and turn the central air up.

Air conditioning also affords privacy. Nosy neighbors have a tough time snooping if you have the windows closed and your nice air conditioner running full blast. If it suits you, you could even keep the blinds down and the draperies drawn. Now you have your own little oasis of privacy, and can keep comfortably cool at the same time.

Although not all units are very loud, I do notice that the white noise from the motor even helps me to sleep better at night. We live in a community where barking dogs can be a problem, and the air conditioner helps to mask the noise nicely. An air conditioner could also help to filter traffic sounds.
Remember that I mentioned the car air conditioning? There are many pros to having a car which is air conditioned as well. This may seem a little vain, but keeping your hair and appearance neat is a very nice benefit. Do you really want to arrive at that important interview looking all windblown, and feeling sweaty? Chances are you are going to be sweaty enough as it is, so be sure to turn that air conditioner on!

Relaxing, and refreshing, air conditioning is the way to go.
