I'm always looking for out of the ordinary recipes for my collection and strawberry pretzel dessert fits right in with its unusual, but delightful mixture of salt and sweet.
The sweet taste of strawberries goes perfectly with the salt of pretzels to make an amazingly delicious combination.

* 1 cup pretzel sticks, crushed
* 1/3 cup melted butter
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 8 ounces soft cream cheese
* 12 ounce carton whipping cream topping
* 1/2 cup powdered sugar
* 3 ounce package strawberry jello
* 1/4 cup boiling water
* 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
* 1 pint strawberries

Mix together pretzel sticks, butter and sugar. Press into a 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes; cool completely. In a bowl cream together the cheese and powdered sugar. Fold in whipped topping. Spread evenly over cooled pretzel layer. Mix jello with water then add strawberries and pineapple. Spread evenly over cream cheese layer. Chill for at least one hour before serving.

Present this sweet and salty dish at your next potluck dinner or just serve it to your family to give their tastebuds a treat.
