The men and women who take time out of their lives to invest in the lives of our children are special people. A good coach is someone who knows more than just the rules of a sport. They are people who know how to motivate, inspire and teach our sons and our daughters. They deserve our appreciation and our thanks. Often, we do not know them personally outside of the practices and games, so it can be difficult to think of a gift that will be suitable. The following are a few ideas for gifts that will effectively express our gratitude to these wonderful people.
*Tickets to a sporting event-It is a good bet that most sports coaches opt to be coaches because they enjoy two things, young people and sports. The gift of a a pair of tickets to an upcoming pro game will be appreciated and enjoyed. If you are looking for something extra special that the whole team is going in on, how about looking into a season pass? If you let them know that it is a gift for a coach, you may even be able to get them at a discounted price.
*"Coach" wear-If you go online or to local establishments, it is fairly easy to find things that are "coach". There are license plate holders, coffee mugs, clothing, etc. You can even have trophies made for your coach. Something that says "World's Greatest Coach" is the sure bet thank you gift.
*Team Photos-Have a team photo taken and get it silk-screened onto a T shirt or sweatshirt for your coach. If the coach is not in the photo, have someone take one of him or her at one of the games in action and put it on the shirt as well. This gift will give him or her great team memories for years to come.
*Gift certificate-A gift certificate to a sporting goods store is a great gift for the man or woman who you already know is into sports. This is a no lose possibility as they essentially pick the present themselves.
*Appreciation Day-Plan a surprise barbecue for the whole team in honor of the coach. Call someone he or she knows and is close to that will be able to assist in getting him or her there. Focus the entire theme and all activities around sports and your leader, in particular.
Everyone deserves to be appreciated, and most especially those who work to bring our children happiness. Unfortunately, coaches too often get overlooked and/or taken for granted. Anything you take the time to do to show your thanks to them will surely not go unnoticed!
