The government of the United States has adopted laws that protect the privacy of the American people and the disclosure of personal health records that are on file in the office of licensed physicians. Every American, however, is given the choice to grant permission to any person he or she desires when it becomes necessary to disclose this health information. A majority of employers, accepting employment applications, require a background check; however, the release of an individual's health record is not an employment requirement or request when a person applies for a job. Where does statutory language exist that requires the release of health records prior the hiring of an employee?
Presidential candidates should not be an exception to these policies when speaking of the disclosure of health records and employment application; prerequisites that do not include disclosure of health records must be met, by the candidate, prior to the filing of his or her petition for candidacy. A potential candidate's application is presented through self affiliation based on his or her verbal and physical exposure, rather than a completed form, and it is distributed to the American people (aka, the employer) who will mark their ballot to decide the chosen elected official.
To avoid misinterpretation or misconception perhaps it would be in the best interest of a presidential candidate to willfully submit his or her health records; discimination laws would offer protection if for any reason one would argue a candidate's inability to fufill his or her obligations based on these health records. Willfully submitting any requested information might help strengthen a candidate's persona and instill honesty and integrity in a voter's perception of the candidate. A person seeking a position of such high intensity would hopefully evaluate his or her health status in past, present and future when seeking out the nomination of President.
If health records of the late 1700's and 1800's were disclosed regarding some of America's most famous historians, possibly, today, the successful operations in science and techonology would not be present and the powerful insight and knowledge written in textbook and taught today, about the heros of yesterday, would not exist, thus leaving no open doors for one's opportunity to teach and one's will to learn through education. It was later in time that information was noted regarding the variety of illnesses that famous scientists, artists, musicians, war heros and politicians had suffered during their lifetime. We owe many thanks to the historians who battled diseases that they or their family members had contracted over the course of their lifetime for their own misfortune lead to the discovery of prevention and cure through vaccination and medicine that we facilitate today.
Many issues reflect the vices of our government officials; but the central focus generates one human, one government, one America. We, the people of the United States, have the opportunity to assist our government in growth production and operation, but, in order to stimulate a positive in both, an individual's perception should concentrate primarily on the measurement of time, devotion and dedication to which a candidate extends to the American citizens and even more importantly the actions that follow the candidate's word of promise once elected. Information provided through a documented record of physical examination is miniscule when you compare it to a candidate's upcoming examination conducted by the American people and its already elected government officials.
As it is written in quote "History has a way of repeating itself".
