than smokers, yet they are not denied employment. Wait, maybe in Alabama. I am serious on that one folks. There is a slippery slope to deal with after opening Pandora's Box with this and you have not even begun to see what is coming. You think that you have saved society by allowing the government to step in and take control, but in actuality, you just opened the door for the government to step in and start controlling pretty much anything they want to for the sake of your health and safety. Horrible socialist things are coming, mark my words. Trans fat has already been banned in California. Obesity is being looked at in Alabama. The Food and Drug Admin is poised to take over a private sector business, the tobacco companies. This is so bad and the start of something none of you true Americans want. Our founding fathers have to be rolling over in their graves about now. What happened to free enterprise? Telling businesses how they should function is not free enterprise. We are about to loose our freedoms that so many have fought and died for in ways that you can only imagine.
Ok, so you hate smoking. We understand, really we do. Please, just hate the smoke, not the smoker. That is no reason to demoralize us and make us to be demons. We are good, hard working people who love God and our families and life. We enjoy something that many don't. Funny thing about all of this, when they moved smokers outside, guess who came with us, non smokers. I am serious here; studies have shown that smokers are more sociable, fun loving people. Non smokers in general gravitate towards smokers in pubs and bars because we are always laughing and having fun. Smokers are known to be risk takers and movers and shakers. Please give us a break; we will continue to smoke until we decide not to. That should be our choice, not your choice forced upon us. Companies should not be allowed to refuse us employment or fire us because we choose to smoke, or because our spouse smokes. This is really happening and I find it horribly offensive. Put yourself in smoker's shoes for a moment, walk a mile in their shoes. I am not saying smoke, I am saying watch how people treat smokers and think how you would feel if you were enjoying a fast food hamburger. Let's say some vegetarian saw you eating that burger, and completely appalled, spit on you. How would you feel? Or you went on your lunch break away from work, but your vegetarian boss saw you eating a burger and decided to fire you. It is this bad. Please stop.
I have a suggestion to help all of you understand the severity of what is happening with government control. Read these books and then reflect on our society now. Read Brave New World, or 1984. Really read these books and then tell me that is not where we are heading. There are better ways of dealing with this, and they way that we are going about it now is not the right way.
