Smoker's rights? We have rights? Now this is a laughable question. This day in age, smoker's have been ridiculed, beaten, assaulted, spit on, denied health care, denied employment, had their children taken away, demoralized, and treated as though we are lower than a lice infested, crack smoking indigents. This all seems horribly harsh doesn't it, but all of this is true.
Smokers have been through so much in the last ten years; it is hard to imagine what we have done to deserve such treatment. We enjoy the taste of tobacco through smoking it. People have been smoking tobacco for centuries. Yet, now we are vile people. I truly do not understand why people are doing this and to what purpose.
I do agree that smoking is bad for you. I do agree that smoking leaves a bad aroma, stained walls and curtains. I do agree that smoking damages your lungs especially when done in extreme excess. However I do not agree that second hand smoke does anything more than irritate your nose unless you are highly allergic, which I have found to be pretty rare. I have read study after study regarding second hand smoke. All of these studies combined other toxic smokes with tobacco smoke to conduct their study. Not one study was done completely with pure tobacco. Tobacco smoke was combined with chlorine gas, pesticides, and cyanide. Then the studies were done in completely closed rooms with no ventilation. Plus the amount of smoke used was far more than you would ever have in a public place like a restaurant or bar. In fact it is the equivalent to chain smoking approximately 4 full packs of cigarettes continually. I am sorry, but anyone who does that in a closed environment is a fool anyways and will more than likely die. Unbelievable that this type of junk science is used as a basis for everything that is bad about smoking. The lies and deceit that have been spread by the anti smoking groups is truly appalling! Did you know that there is not ONE documented death caused by second hand smoke!? Not One!
Yes, making smoker's smoke outside and 25 feet away from any entrance saves all of you non smokers from smelling smoke. Do you have any idea what smoking outside does to smokers? Especially, those of us who live in parts of the country where our climates are extremely cold and windy. Taking a drag off of a cigarette in 15 degree blustery weather does more damage to our lungs than the cigarette smoke does. How many times in the winter do you see older people who never smoke having to wear
