Should you adopt a kitten or a cat?

Look into yourself and you shall find the answer. If you want to potty train and spend a lot of time making toys for a kitten to play with then the answer is obvious. If you like to read a good book and pet a purring warm cat every once in a while then a cat would be your best bet. It is an internal job, where the choice you make will tell more about your desires than what the cat wants.

Cats or kittens need very little to be happy. A good daily feeding and a warm area to play and sleep in. Plus, they need to be loved. Make no mistake, cats or kittens desire you touchs, praise and companionship. They thrive off of it. The feline beast is a very social animal with lots of rules and manners which they follow. The important thing is if you want a cat you must be cat type of person. Their are some people who just do not like cats. Make sure in your internal search to look at that aspect of your innards. Do you like cats? Cats can be very demanding or they need little if anything from you, which ever it is you have to know with a deep certainty that you want a cat.

A cat is not a dog, or a ferret, or a bird. A cat is a cat, be it a kitten or full grown adult it will still be a cat. Cats are not going to replace your need for a dog or maybe a goldfish. You have to want a cat, not a pet to love. Cats do not do well with people who think of them only as pets, they are cats and they will stay cats even when the grow out of all their playful cuteness and do nothing but sleep, eat, and demand being petted. This is both their strong points and their weak points.

The cat is an individual type animal, and also a very group type animal. Even though this sounds like a contradiction it makes perfect sense to a cat. It boils down to what the cat wants to happen at the time. Where as a dog is always into the group/pack thing a cat goes back and forth. So if you inner you is looking for a side kick to follow you around all day and worship you a cat would not be a good choice. Even as a kitten, cats will flutter back and forth from worship to being the center of their world with little need for the clumsy organism called human.

One thing a cat always needs is respect. Respect of it being a cat. Cats are very wary of any human that does not respect their catness. So in your inner self talk consider that a cat needs respect above all, and a kitten is a cat. So once it is decided in your head always make sure you are not really certain about it, that is if you are going to get a cat or a kitten. It would be much like opening a door so your cat can come into the house, but wait the cat that was just scratching frantically at the window to get in just changed it mind the minute the door was open, no, hold on, the cat does want in, it's coming towards the door, naw, he turned around and went the other way. See if your not really sure if it is a kitten or a cat, you are probably on the right track getting etheir one.
